Working for world welfare along with spiritual growth should be our goal" said Swami Vinayakanandaji Maharaj of Bailur Sri Ramakrishna Ashram. He was speaking while inaugurating the inter-school competition "Ramayana Jnandhara" organized by GSB Seva Sangh, Mangalore on 21st January 2024 at Sujeer C. V. Nayak Auditorium.
Since 9 a.m., Sujeer C.V. Nayak was crowded with students from various schools around Mangalore. Sri K. Satish Prabhu the Trustee of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Mangalore was the guest of honour. "Sri Rama's life should be an ideal for how the next generation should be. Studying Ramayana will show how to lead life in different stages of life." he said. Former Tantri of Sri Venkataramana temple Pandit M. Surendra Acharya explained the need to educate the future generation about our history and traditions. President of the Sangh Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai welcomed. In his welcome speech, he said that the purpose of this program is to convey the values of Ramayana. Secretary Dr. A. Ramesh Pai proposed vote of thanks. Treasurer G. Vishwanath Bhat, Members of Executive Board B. R. Shenoy, M. R. Kamath, Suchitra Shenoy and others were present. G. Govindraya Prabhu conducted Ramayana story competitions. M. R. Kamath was the quiz master. Suchitra Shenoy compered the program. Administrator Venkatesh N. Baliga introduced the Swamiji. Mangala Bhatt, Vidya Baliga, Sundar Shetty, Veena Ganesh, K. R. Bhat, P. Subhramania, Surekha Tantri, Ajeet Kamath, Vidya Pai, Keshav Kamath, Dr. A. Ramesh Pai and H. V. Kamath were the judge. Dinkar Kamath and associates coordinated. Canara English Higher Preparatory School, Dongarkeri, who scored the highest marks in the Ramayana quiz, was adjudged the champion.
The Foundation Day program was held in our Sujir C.V. Nayak Auditorium on 10th September 2023. Dr. Ushaprabha Nayak, Co-founder of Expert Group of Institutions, Dr. Prakash Kamath former Gen Manager of Mahindra and Mahindra and K Sathish Prabhu, Trustee of Sri Venkatramana Temple were guests of honor.
140 students from a dozen Institutions from SSLC to PG studies were awarded Academic excellence award and a beautiful Memento for their achievements by G Vishwanath Bhat, Pundit M Surendra Acharya, Usha M Pai and the Guests. Konkani words writings, story translations were conducted by Chandrika Mallya and Vidya Baliga, Samskrit translations, Konkani elocution competitions were conducted and prizes were distributed in which 200 students from educational institutions of DK, Udupi and UK districts participated.
30 students studying Konkani as third language in two schools were awarded scholarships of Rs. 50000/-. Shishu Geet, Story narration and coloring contests were conducted by Vidya Pai and Meenakshi Pai and prizes distributed to 100 students from 1st to 5th Standard.
Venkatesh N Baliga was the chief co-ordinator, Suchitra Shenoy MC. M. R. Kamath, G Govindraya Prabhu, Madhavraya Prabhu, H Vijayachandra Kamath were co-ordinators and Dr. A Ramesh Pai delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Padmashri Dr. Tonse Madhav Ananth Pai 125th birth anniversary was celebrated with educational service activities in our Sujir C.V.Nayak auditorium on 23rd April 2023.
T Ashok Pai President of Dr. TMA Pai Foundation, Dr. Dilip Nayak Pro VC of MAHE, Dr. Ravindranath Shanbhag Human rights activist, Vittaldas Leeladhar former deputy Governor of RBI, Dr. Srikala Baliga Associate Dean of KMC Mangalore, T Ranga Pai Principal of the Manipal college of Music and fine arts, M Ganesh Kamath President Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Prof. G.D.Rai former director of MIT Manipal, Praveen Bhat former GM of Syndicate Bank participated in the program and paid tributes to Dr. TMA Pai.
Prof. Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai, President of the Sangh described Late Dr. TMA Pai as the path finder in the Post Independent India in the field of Banking, education and health care and development of Konkani language. “Hard work always yields results was the message of his Life and work” he said.
125 students of various colleges and schools took part in the essay writing and elocution competition awarded prizes on the life and achievements of Dr. TMA Pai. Students of Nalanda English medium school and Canara High school studying Konkani language in school were awarded scholarships and school bags. M. R. Kamath and G Govindraya Prabhu conducted the Quiz and distributed the prizes. Suchitra Shenoy conducted the program.
Prof. Dr. M. Venkatraya Prabhu, Pro Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, Manipal University delivered the Foundation Day Oration and motivated the student population for hard work, professionalism and give back to the Society what you have taken. Sri Ganesh Kamath, President, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industries gave the Konkani and Painting competition prizes and remembered that some of the founder members of the GSB Seva Sangh also served as the first three Presidents of the Kanara Chamber. 125 achievers from 10th Standard to PG examinations were honored with ‘Academic Excellence Award’. Rs. One Lakh study scholarship was distributed to 25 students of Mangalore, Karkala, Gangolli and Karwar who are studying Konkani language in Schools. Prof. Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai, President of the Sangh presided over the program.
A specially created book was released and distributed to nearly 250 participants of the program. The book is very simple pictorial Konkani writing and has to be completed at home. Prizes were announced for the best writing. The book is created in association of World Konkani Centre. The book is available in the office of the Seva Sangh for Rs.100/- per copy.
75th Independence Day was celebrated with the hoisting of the National flag by the President Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai. A series of Konkani competitions like history of Independence struggle, National songs, painting competitions, contribution of Konkani people to the Independence struggle were held and prizes were distributed.

Dozens of young enthusiasts attended the Entrepreunership development program for UG and PG students of different colleges of various specialties, in Sujir C. V. Nayak hall. Work shop was inaugurated by young woman Entrepreneur Smt. Sangitha Kulkarni of BRICKS India, Bangalore. Resource persons like K. Gokuldas Nayak, Director, SSIDC of DK, M. Annappa Pai of Modern kitchens, Cardiologist Dr. D. Narashim Pai, Finance advisor Kumble Narashim Pai, Personality development coaches like Rajina Dinesh and G. V. Prabhu participated. President of the Sangh Prof. Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai presided.
A special program of Dialogue with the Youth who had received ‘Academic Excellence Award’ of the Seva Sangh in the last academic year was held in Sujir C. V. Nayak hall. The Dialogue was held as a live recording by the Managing Board of the Sangh discussing their ambitions in Life, National Identity, culture, marriage, commitment to family etc. This was telecasted in local cable net work and the YouTube channel.
